Open Hips for Yoga, Open Hearts for Life...Hips and Hearts ... Bow - Let it Go!
Below is a very simple, not even very clear video, yet I was compelled to share this with you... The poses are Bow.. Releasing things that simply No Longer Serve You...letting things go...and something I call: "Hips and Hearts" ...I believe these are connected.. In class I always say.. "No matter what the question is.. the answer is Always, open you're Hips!" I believe in order to move forward in Yoga you have to Open your Hips. In order to move forward in life.. You have to open your heart! The more we reach from above, the more we release from below, Hips and Hearts!

I find myself daily defending a life of love, love of self. There is a certain darkness in this life that is undeniable. I have found that if I can use pieces from the poses in yoga to release the things that are holding me back, or preventing me from moving forward, the better I feel. Bow, opens your heart, releases things in your life you are holding onto. Then onto "hips and hearts" which sounds clever, but holds such a deeper meaning.
Yoga, a practice of body, but also heart and soul. So the body part, is directly affected by hips. So much of moving forward in yoga poses involves literally opening your hips. When your knees hurt or your back is weak, a lot of it comes from not opening your hips. So it is a key ingredient to moving forward or making progress... the ability to open your hips. Quite the same with our hearts. In this challenging place we call life the only way to move forward is to learn to open your heart. To learn to allow the LoVe IN! You cannot receive love if you are not open to it. Hence, hips and hearts... the more we learn to reach from above, to open your heart, to be open to the love that is waiting for you, the more you will open from below. When your heart is OPEN, it is less heavy and you are open to receive!
